Rev Professor J P Taylor MBE (Union Theological College, Queen's University, Belfast)

Professor Patton Taylor MBE, PhD, is currently Professor of Old Testament Theology at Union Theological College (Queen’s University) in Belfast.  Previously he lived and worked for many years in parish ministry in inner-city North Belfast, as minister of Duncairn and St Enoch’s Presbyterian Churches.  He was proactive in inner-city and cross-community ministry in North Belfast and was a co-founder of the 174 Trust.  As then Convener of the Presbyterian Board of Social Witness, he became involved in the four-nations CCWA UK from its inception and still chairs the CCWA UK Trustees.

In 2007 he was awarded the MBE for his long-standing ministry to the Territorial Army, including a period of front-line service in Afghanistan.

His wife Marlene, is also a Presbyterian minister and they have five grown-up children, plus a grandson only a few weeks old.
