CCWA (NI) Forum

The Churches’ Community Work Alliance (NI) is committed to enabling a just, caring, reconciled and sustainable society in Northern Ireland through facilitating the community development interests and work of churches, projects, agencies and individuals.

The CCWA (NI) Forum is a Northern Ireland wide grouping open to representatives and individuals who are interested and/ or already involved in this work. The Forum aims:

  • to initiate, support and encourage community work in the life of churches within Northern Ireland.
  • to help churches, projects and individual Christians to reflect theologically on contemporary social, political and economic issues affecting Northern Ireland.
  • to promote good community work practice within Northern Ireland.
  • to provide help and guidance for community projects and to support practitioners throughout Northern Ireland.
  • to provide a Northern Ireland-wide forum for areas of common interest and concern to be discussed and activities to be coordinated.
  • to provide a body which can represent the Christian Community Work sector in discussions with government and other interest groups/sectors in Northern Irish society.

The Forum meets as group approximately quarterly, providing an opportunity to network and to explore relevant issues together.

Past Forum meetings have explored issues surrounding A Shared Future, volunteering and others, and have been addressed by Ms Margaret Ritchie MLA (Minister for Social Development) and by Dr Duncan Morrow of the Community Relations Council.

Membership is currently without charge.  To apply for membership, and to be kept informed of future meetings of the Forum, please download and return the application form.
