Volunteer For A Change
Community Work From A Christian Perspective wants to recruit and support volunteers from a variety of church backgrounds to work in Christian faith-based community projects located in disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Northern Ireland.
This is not about filling a gap in your timetable. This is an experience designed to change your life. This is an opportunity to learn and to grow.
Volunteering full-time or for a couple of hours a week, or anywhere in between: you could make a difference.
You will be:
- placed with a community project in Northern Ireland.
- involved in structured and informal learning experiences with a variety of teachers — children, older people, theologians, activists, community leaders and other volunteers.
- given an opportunity for your thinking to be challenged and your life to be enriched.
Potential host projects include those working in the areas of youth, homelessness, addiction, unemployment, community relations, peace & reconciliation and others.
The programme is currently without charge, and volunteers’ out-of-pocket expenses are covered.
Gap Year Opportunities
Volunteer For A Change includes opportunities for anyone aged 18 or over to take a year out, for example between school and university, to spend volunteering. Please get in touch to discuss the possibilities.
