CFF research project takes off

The Community Faiths’ Forum is currently engaged in research into faith-based engagement with community issues in Northern Ireland, specifically to help equip the faith-based sector to be involved with social and justice issues and also to help government and statutory bodies understand better the issues of faith based engagement in the community. The management of this task is undertaken by a sub-group of the Forum.

Tony Macaulay and associates have been appointed by the Community Faiths’ Forum to conduct this research which it is intended will conclude with a publication and conference late in 2011.

The work will be more qualitative than quantitative although it will include extrapolation from quantitative data available elsewhere. It will include case studies, an examination of how faith-based community work adds to social capital in Northern Ireland, and an examination of the barriers that exist to faith based communities engaging in and with the communities where they are based.

Further information is available from the CFF coordinator.
